Belair Test Run

Written by • Dec 23rd, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
It has been weeks since my Belair Globe-trotter arrived and I finally got the test roll developed in the bathroom after dinner and scanned it. What do I think of this pretty neat looking camera? Since I don’t feel like typing much now … I generated some memes to do the explanation …… >> read more

Taming The Beast

Written by • Aug 10th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
Fitzand’s didn’t have to attend class today and so I took a day off to babysit him. After breakfast I took him for a fun time at Gardens By The Bay … and lugging along my Mamiya 645 Pro TL for a test drive. I picked up this (darn heavy) beast some time back but just couldn’t find the time (and mood) to test drive it. The camera looks a little seasoned and I was a little worried it might give me problem since it is way past the few… >> read more

Diana + Redscale Randoms

Written by • Jun 26th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
I’m getting closer to clearing all the partially exposed rolls of film left stuck in some cameras. This time … a roll of Lomography redscale film finally got fully exposed and it in are some random shots from Taiwan and Singapore. Well … only 2 were shot in Taiwan. 😛 I could only find time to scan 4 of them and will try stay awake tonight to finish scanning the others. Most of them seem to be a underexposed and looks very red! This one (above) was taken during a… >> read more

Roll Of Disaster

Written by • Dec 11th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
After a successful attempt at DIY developing my first roll of 35mm black & white film recently, I took a risk (it is always a risk for a clumsy guy like me) and attempted doing the same for a roll of 120 film. This is one of two test rolls (Rollei Retro 400) I took randomly to test out my GF670. I’ll talk about the camera later on. Notice the white patch on the bottom right of the photo above? Okay … here’s the whole story. Loading the 120 film… >> read more

The Folding Gift

Written by • Nov 29th, 2011 • Category: Toys
Christmas sure came very early this year for me when a parcel from Hong Kong arrived today. It it is a Fujifilm GF670 … one of my dream camera when I was hunting for a camera that allows me to shoot 6×6, has metering & aperture priority and doesn’t weigh a ton. Best of all … this camera … is a gift … for me!!! It is not brand new but in mint condition and came with the strap and manual (Japanese). I couldn’t resist but to take some snapshots… >> read more

Lazy Afternoon Snaps

Written by • Jun 30th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Apart from gulping down lots of yummy beer yesterday at Whitchurch Rd area, we did loiter around that area for some photos. At one point … we were even told that ‘hey … this is private property!’ when we were shooting some swing in some open area. Duh. Anyway … still I managed to finish a roll of long expired Kodak T400N 120 and got it developed today. Like the BW400CN, the T400CN doesn’t give too much of a contrast. Still pretty usable for times when I wanna shoot black… >> read more

World Pinhole Day 2011

Written by • Apr 25th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
It was a super crazy hot day at the zoo yesterday as I joined some friends there for a World Pinhole Day outing. To make things worse, I had Fitzand with me and he was distracting me so often when I was trying to count the number of seconds whenever I start exposing the shots. Hahaha! Stressed! ‘Best’ of all was when I loaded the roll of 120 into the Multi Pinhole Operator … it (the film) suddenly snapped before I managed to advance to frame #1. Argh!!! Luckily I… >> read more

ETRSi Test Shots

Written by • Jan 7th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
The Bronica ETRSi has always been one of the camera I wanna lay my hands on to have a feel on how to operate such a camera. Recently a reasonably priced one came along and I grabbed it to have some medium format fun. It came with a 75mm f2.8 lens as well as the AE-II prism. It is one heavy beast and I stole a little time off from the trip to the zoo yesterday to burn some film to test it out. Struggled a bit and was trying… >> read more

06 Nov 2010

Written by • Nov 6th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
Some friends once told me that if they see me whipping out my camera during meals … trying to photograph the food … that will mean that I’m getting restless, bored or simply need to go burn some rolls of film (ASAP). The recent couple of months has been pretty super sucky at work and thus I’ve not much mood to shoot much. 🙁 Damn. I’m mentally super tired from all that stuff and luckily in exactly a week from now … I’ll be on a plane for a week… >> read more

Holga + T400CN : Tokyo

Written by • May 5th, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
I remember having to pour out the contents of my camera bag for the airport security guy (Narita Airport) and showed him my cams and chargers etc. He then put them all in 2 trays to re-scan them. He later came back to me and handed back my stuffs and held up my Holga … and said ‘Camera!’. I was wondering if he was asking me if that ugly plastic is a camera or was he telling me it is a cool camera. Hmm. Nevermind. I threw in the Holga… >> read more
