Defining [PLAY] With Toys

Written by • Jul 4th, 2011 • Category: Others
Received an email from Bill … the co-founder & editor of Composing With Images Press and thought this might interest some of you toy camera fans out there. Not only your masterpieces has the chance to be included in a photo book … but you are also doing a great part in helping raise fund to help others. Composing with Images Press (CWiP) seeks photographs taken with toy cameras for a forthcoming photo book that explores, complicates, and represents in compelling ways the concept of Play. All proceeds from the… >> read more

36 In 12 : Are You Ready?

Written by • Mar 23rd, 2011 • Category: Others
The response to the ’36 In 12′ challenge (part of the 36 Frames projects I did some time ago) that I posted a few days ago was awesome! I even lost track of how many people who are into this fun challenge but hey … that doesn’t matter. What matters most is that everyone who expressed interest to join the fun on this coming weekend … the 27th of March 2011 to be precise … shoots and send me their photos afterwards. I get all stressed up when trying to… >> read more

Look Who’s Baking!

Written by • Oct 27th, 2010 • Category: Others
Got a little surprise just now when picking Fitzand up from the childcare center. The teacher showed me a page from a magazine and there right in front of my eyes … my Fitzand! Coolness eh? Then I suddenly remembered there was this lady going around interviewing parents during one of the event and I guess she’s writing for this. Too bad I don’t like to answer interview questions (doing it online is a bit okay though) and thus the short (super short) session with me probably ended up in… >> read more

Passport Photo Fun!

Written by • Jun 27th, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
It was perhaps a few years ago when I traded a Seagull TLR with a friend’s Fujifilm FP-14. That cool, big and cool looking passport camera was given to him by someone and he didn’t see much use in it … so we traded. After that … I used it only a couple of times because the film for it ain’t cheap. *sweat* Recently I bought 5 packs of the FP-100B film … for use with my instant pinhole camera (that I’ve yet to finish modifying!) made using a Polaroid… >> read more

Fun, Cold, Poison : Day 3

Written by • Apr 26th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
Another delayed ‘telecast’ because there just ain’t enough time to go though the photos yesterday … although I got these all typed out already. LOL! Day 3 and everything is great except for a pair of aching old legs. We decided to loiter around Times Square for some shopping and slacking … while checking out the best way to get to Disneyland tomorrow. I initially thought the airport limo bus could drop us off at Disney but somehow that ain’t the case. The hotel behind ours (which we originally supposed… >> read more

Light It Up Camera

Written by • Dec 22nd, 2009 • Category: Toys
We’ve seen cameras ‘disguised’ as fruit juice boxes, books, cigarette boxes and all sorts of fancy stuffs. Little did I know that there is even one ‘disguised’ as a cigarette lighter! Looks cute and neat but I’ve yet to see any sample photo/video from it. Pull off the top part of the ‘lighter’ and it looks just like an USB thumb drive. It even has a 4GB memory built-in for lots of photos & video fun. Not sure if this toy is suitable for school kids though. They might get… >> read more

My Mini Photographer

Written by • Dec 20th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
My favourite ‘model’ is actually a big photography lover himself. Brought my family out for some Xmas shopping today and before we left home … Fitzand told me that he wanted to bring his camera along. I was a little worried when he said ‘my camera’. Why? Hahaha. It was not too long ago that he referred my Lomo LC-A+ camera as ‘my camera’ after I let him shoot a roll on it. *sweats* Phew. Thank God he was referring to the Little Tikes digital camera for kids instead. He… >> read more

Zoo + Kids = Fun!

Written by • Sep 25th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
I am on annual leave today to accompany Fitzand to a trip to the zoo with his teachers and friends from the childcare. I must admit that I was very happy and excited when I heard of the invite to join them for half a day of fun at the zoo. Being at the zoo with Fitzand is joy enough but since I love to be around kids, I told myself that I have to make sure I can join them no matter what. So I woke up early in… >> read more

Curious Superstar

Written by • Aug 21st, 2009 • Category: Others
It’s finally Friday again! While waiting for the happy weekend to arrive, I thought I might as well add an entry to share this super funny and cute photograph that I saw in the news recently. It is the type of photo that makes me smile every time I see it. Cute ain’t it? Hahaha. This was somehow an ‘accidental’ shot when the American couple were on vacation in Canada. They had the self timer on … posed for the photo and suddenly out came a curious squirrel who looked… >> read more

Done Nothing

Written by • Jul 27th, 2009 • Category: Others
Monday is here again. Duh! Dah! Damn! What I wanted to do the last two days (weekend!) … 1. Finish shooting 2 rolls of double exposures 2. Finish going through all the photos of Fitzand that I took in Sentosa 3. Clear my big time messy desk in my study room 4. Change the tags/info of some albums in my iPod Touch. Not sure what on earth happened and some of the albums’ artist name turned to ‘Various Artist’. What I managed to do … NOTHING! I didn’t do any… >> read more
