Battlefield Pinhole Cam!

Written by • Jul 29th, 2011 • Category: Others
Came across this super duper awesome DIY camera tutorial … to make a ‘Battlefield Pinhole Camera’ by photographer Steven Monteau and thought maybe some of you might wanna build something similar. I was going ‘whoaaaa!’ and itching to try it out but I’ve hardly got enough free time to work on these fun projects lately. 🙁 Anyway … the camera takes 3 rolls of 35mm film and exposes them simultaneously! I’ve seen some photos taken with 2 35mm strips on a Holga but this one … 3 rolls … and… >> read more

36 In 12 : The Challenge

Written by • Mar 19th, 2011 • Category: Others
It has been a while since I’ve done the Thirty Six Frames challenge and I’m wondering if anyone will be interested to join me on another exciting (and sometimes stressful) one … this time … still shooting 36 frames but with a different theme/idea. Been toying around with this idea for a while now but I’ve yet to even try doing it myself (before inviting friends to join the fun). So … here is how it goes … Capturing what we do in 12 hours We shall pick a specific… >> read more

Let’s Get Fat

Written by • Nov 18th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
It is already the 5th day since I landed here in Taiwan for a year-end break. Gosh. How time flies. Come Sunday and I’ll have to get my fat butt back in Singapore … and the next day … to W . O . R . K !!!!!!!! Strange but true … I wasn’t really in the mood to take much photo since the day I landed. Not only with my analogue cams … but also digital ones. I ended up shooting more short video clips instead. Hahaha! The last… >> read more

About Cyanwater

Written by • Oct 20th, 2010 • Category: Someone : About
Cindy aka Cyanwater aka The Queen is no stranger to many of us here (in Singapore) when it comes to the Lomography/toy cam photography scene. She sweeps the prizes whenever she participates in any of the photo contests and not only is she a talented photographer … she runs the Lomography/toy camera shop, ThirtySix with her partner Jimmy. It took a little too long for me to extract these answers from her but it was all my fault for being too busy to funish her the questions. I did so… >> read more

RF Introduction

Written by • Jul 19th, 2010 • Category: Lead Story
For those who are interested in picking up a rangefinder camera or those who are just curious about what a rangefinder is all about, there will be a rangefinder introduction showcase and talk on the 6th August 2010 at the Glass Hall, Singapore Art Museum. I ain’t part of this community (yet) because I ain’t got no rangefinder camera … but just helping a friend spread the word (and poison). 😀 I’m wondering if I can find time to attend it but at the same time … I’m worried about… >> read more

Newbie Made It!

Written by • Apr 5th, 2010 • Category: Others
I recently registered an account with Lomography’s website for Fitzand and uploaded some of the photos he took in their gallery. Soon after that, I saw a photo rumble asking for submissions of newbies’ self portraits and of course I helped him submit one from this recent Fisheye2 roll of self portraits. Today the results were announced and … He made it!!! Yay!!! Guess he won’t understand too much of it when I explain to it to him later tonight but I’m gonna give him my Fisheye2 cam as a… >> read more

XA4 : Back On The Streets

Written by • Mar 22nd, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
The good ol’ Olympus XA4 has always been one of my favourite camera for street shooting. The wide lens plus the boring black look (yawn!) makes things a lot more fun, especially when I love to shoot from the (fat) hip. Well I don’t actually shoot from the hip but I hold it closer to me chest instead. After some rest in the cabinet, I took it out a couple of weeks ago … and loaded it with a roll of Solaris 400 film. I remember most of these shots… >> read more

Back Then [Part 1]

Written by • Mar 5th, 2010 • Category: Others
Spent the last 1 hour digging out some photos to be re-uploaded to my blog gallery. I recently noticed a couple of them got screwed up after I uploaded files of the duplicate name into them. Strange enough the gallery was smart enough to rename the new file with an extension (eg. 1_0.jpg) but the other (original file that’s called 1.jpg) ended up identical with the new one. Duh! So far I’ve only managed to find out 2 cases and got them rectified. Do drop me a note if you… >> read more

Story? [Rant]

Written by • Nov 5th, 2009 • Category: Others
Give me a moment while I adjust my frequency … [RANT MODE ON] Okay. I seldom do this but I thought maybe I could bitch about some things that kinda irritate me here. Often I’ll go around photography forums viewing photos taken by others … no … not for inspiration because that will make me a ‘photocopier’ … but just to sit back and enjoy (and sometimes not) the photos. I came across this pretty clean and nice landscape photo that someone took during sunset (or was it sunrise?) at… >> read more

Everyday People

Written by • Nov 1st, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
Ever since I tried shooting in black & white mode using my Ricoh GRD3, I’ve decided to start two galleries to house photos I take with it. One is for photos in square (1:1) format in black & white and the other is a black & white collection of street photography shots (called ‘Everyday people’). I’ve had few photos for the square format gallery but was only able to kick-off the ‘everyday people’ set yesterday when I was on the way for breakfast with my family in Chinatown. Why did… >> read more
