Passport Photo Fun!

Written by • Jun 27th, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
It was perhaps a few years ago when I traded a Seagull TLR with a friend’s Fujifilm FP-14. That cool, big and cool looking passport camera was given to him by someone and he didn’t see much use in it … so we traded. After that … I used it only a couple of times because the film for it ain’t cheap. *sweat* Recently I bought 5 packs of the FP-100B film … for use with my instant pinhole camera (that I’ve yet to finish modifying!) made using a Polaroid… >> read more

A New Home!

Written by • Apr 4th, 2010 • Category: Others
It was only last month that wifey told me that she’s got the contractor to come fix up a new cabinet to replace the ‘display wall’ I had in my study room. I used to like the display wall but I’ve got lazy and those photos there has been hanging around since the day I moved in many years ago. I was delighted!!! That meant I could have a bigger display cabinet for my toys! I used to shove them into two small shelves from Ikea, and hid some of… >> read more

Blackbird, Fly + Manga?

Written by • Jan 16th, 2010 • Category: Others
Just got to know this from CircleRectangle.com … a special(?) edition of the Blackbird, Fly camera … the ‘Sundome Version’. I ain’t into these manga stuffs (not even a bit) but those colors on the white BBF looks pretty neat. Perhaps it will look even hotter if they use the photo of the (real) girl in the image below for it? 😀 At a price of 14,700 Yen (about S$225!), this is a little bit too crazy! Although I’ve been buying (yeah stupid!) all the other colors available for the… >> read more

Let me post this blog entry to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year … in case I can’t drag myself to the computer the next few days. Hahaha. It is not that I’ll be having big hangovers tomorrow and the days after … but I’ve got many stuffs to attend to and might not be able to find enough time to blog. MERRY CHRISTMAS & A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR! Since it is just days before the year 2010 comes knocking at our doors, perhaps I… >> read more

Gakkenflex : Fun!

Written by • Nov 12th, 2009 • Category: Others
Finally got my Gakkenflex assembled and ready to go. It was really fun putting the little parts together but not being able to read Japanese (in the instructions) did make me pause a couple of times to look hard before proceeding. Some of the parts/steps were a little confusing (for me). So I decided to note those down and maybe share with everyone here … in case anyone is interested. 😀 All ready to start … after Fitzand goes to bed 😀 The final product … ready to go! The… >> read more

BBF, Eat This!

Written by • Nov 9th, 2009 • Category: Toys
If you’ve tried using the Blackbird, Fly camera, you probably find that the images ain’t as ‘toy-like’ as you thought/hope they’ll be. Right? Well that’s how I find it and also feedback from some friends. I own a few of them but they have been sitting on my shelf as deco pieces instead of getting put to good use. Duh! Anyway … recently there is this Japanese magazine that once brought us the Gakken stereo pinhole camera … and now this volume comes with a plastic TLR! Cool! At first… >> read more

Holga TLR?

Written by • May 28th, 2009 • Category: Others
I have always considered the Holga to be the ‘mother of all toy cameras’. When they launched the Holga 120WPC (Wide Pinhole Camera), I thought it was a great new design and of course i bought it for some super wide pinhole fun. Now … perhaps as a result of the big Blackbird, Fly camera craze … those guys in the factory seemed to have pieced something new … a Holga TLR! At first I was pretty excited when I read about it … until I saw photos of the… >> read more

Ran. Lub.

Random Lubitel shots … Something I do sometimes when I need to kill time … random shots at random places. These were mostly taken when I was in Malaysia a couple of weeks ago. I’m begining to like the Lubitel 166+ more and more. Unfortunately, apart from a shameless self-portrait, I did not do any double exposure (which I love) this time. For a while … I thought that those black dots are ‘dust bunnies’ on the photo above. Haha. Maybe I am missing my DSLR and about time to… >> read more

Kiddo Art

Written by • May 10th, 2009 • Category: Others
Just the other day, Fitzand came home from childcare with a plastic file containing some of the ‘art’ they did in class. I decided to photograph each and every one of them and keep a ‘collection’ of these funny and cute work in my blog here. Here’s one he did (of course with the help of his teachers) for Mothers’ Day. It’s Mothers’ Day today … so here’s wishing all the wonderful mothers in the world a very Happy Mothers’ Day. Thank you for everything. The rest of Fitzand’s ‘artwork’… >> read more
