The Getaway : The Video

Written by • Sep 7th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
Before you click on the video below, please note that there ain’t nothing too amazing or interesting in it. Hahaha! It is just a short video pieced together for little Fitzand to watch while I am busy stealing time to sit down and rest. Put together these little clips and got it done in around half an hour (I don’t have much patience with these stuffs) but the video uploaded to Vimeo is not in HD. The Vimeo’s restriction of a 500MB max filesize forced me to render a lower… >> read more

Was out with my family to Clarke Quay area for late lunch and thought maybe we should slack there until dinner time so that Fitzand can have some outdoor fun there … watching the boats and running around. We had some yummy Japanese food (ramen!) there and then while wifey went for some shopping … Fitzand and I loitered around and of course I tried to take some photos of him to cure my trigger-happy fingers. Played with my Spinner for a while but ended up shooting digital with the… >> read more

It has been an overdose of World Cup stuffs recently … from being flooded with friends’ ‘live’ updates on Facebook, woken up in the middle of the night because of some crazy ‘goalll!’ screams from a coffee shop 4 minutes away (and 29 floors down!) … and the frustration of not being able to slack near the bar counter at my favourite watering hole. Back at home … I don’t bother to watch (or follow) the matches at all. Yeah … you can tell me that it happens only every… >> read more

Disneyland Video : Test

Since I had the newly acquired K-x with me in Tokyo, I wanted to try shooting some video clips with it. Using the kit lens, I happily switched the cam to video mode but later realised I was struggling to get things right. First was the focusing. I later realised that maybe I should be using it in AF-C mode because focusing was going all crazy with those stuffs in the parade moving in and out. The other thing is the exposure. I ain’t sure how to actually make it… >> read more

Took the opportunity to try shooting a super short video clip when I was testing out the E-P1 + Pentax 25mm f1.4 lens while I was at the Merlion Park for the sunrise shoot. My hands were ultra-shaky probably due to lack of sleep, so I mounted the camera on my crappy tripod and tried ‘panning’ it with the tripod’s center column. Too bad the movement wasn’t very smooth and resulted in slight jerks in some parts of the video. It was tough trying to turn the camera but holding… >> read more

Night Race : Digital Harinezumi

Written by • Sep 28th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
F1 came to Singapore last year, the first night race in F1 history. The Singapore Grand Prix runs counterclockwise, which makes the Singapore race one of the only three circuits in the world to do so. The race will span about five kilometres, with 14 left-hand turns and 10 right-hand turns, meaning there will be several thrilling straights and tight turns for dramatic action. If you were expecting a video clip of the F1 race … sorry for the disappointment. Hahaha! I actually had an invitation to watch the F1… >> read more
