The Last Camera : Test Roll

Written by • Oct 25th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
If you have read my earlier blog entry about my attempt to assemble the Last Camera … you will probably know that I almost screwed up when I was working on the lens assembly. I messed up the elements and had to buzz Jimmy (from ThirtySix) to help check which was the 2nd and 3rd lenses in the package. I had to pray real hard when he told me the answer … as I was worried he might be drinking beer when he replied me. 😀 Anyway … I was… >> read more

Pentax MZ-S + Solaris 200

Written by • Oct 2nd, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
This test roll took a bit longer than expected to complete. A roll of long expired Solaris 200 was used to test the Pentax MZ-S I bought some weeks ago … paired with an old Pentax F 50mm f1.7 lens. This has been the SLR I’ve long wanted and eventually I gave up on the search for an affordable silver one and settled for a black version. The autofocus makes it easier for my old eyes but I tend to get too trigger happy when things get too easy. LOL.… >> read more

Taming The Beast

Written by • Aug 10th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
Fitzand’s didn’t have to attend class today and so I took a day off to babysit him. After breakfast I took him for a fun time at Gardens By The Bay … and lugging along my Mamiya 645 Pro TL for a test drive. I picked up this (darn heavy) beast some time back but just couldn’t find the time (and mood) to test drive it. The camera looks a little seasoned and I was a little worried it might give me problem since it is way past the few… >> read more

Warming Up The F3

Written by • Aug 7th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
Left with not much time and inspiration to shoot, I recently pulled out my old Nikon F3 and loaded a roll of Lomo negatives to give the camera a ‘warm up’. It has been sitting in there (cabinet) for a while now and I sure don’t want it do die a natural death in there. Thank God it still works great! I only have 2 lenses for the F3 and these were all shot using the Carl Zeiss 50mm f1.4 lens. The other one is an el cheapo macro lens… >> read more

Seeing Red After Beer

Written by • Jul 22nd, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
The roll (of disaster) that was halfway scanned (a roll of Lomo redscale 120) from some weeks back became an eyesore on my desk … so I decided to scan the surviving shots and get over it as soon as possible. Yeah … this was the roll I shot (with my Diana F+) not long ago … during an ‘outing’ with Jimmy (from ThirtySix). Most of the shots from this roll turned out underexposed. 🙁 🙁 🙁 Note to self : Do not drink beer before taking photographs! Hehehe! I’m… >> read more

Diana + Redscale Randoms

Written by • Jun 26th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
I’m getting closer to clearing all the partially exposed rolls of film left stuck in some cameras. This time … a roll of Lomography redscale film finally got fully exposed and it in are some random shots from Taiwan and Singapore. Well … only 2 were shot in Taiwan. 😛 I could only find time to scan 4 of them and will try stay awake tonight to finish scanning the others. Most of them seem to be a underexposed and looks very red! This one (above) was taken during a… >> read more

Fisheye2 Vs Fathers’ Day

Written by • Jun 18th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
Happy Fathers’ Day!!! Now time sure zap past real fast and it is another Fathers’ Day. It was just last year that I did a short video for the ‘Papa Amigo‘ feature in Lomography’s website. This year Fitzand made me some lovely cards in school and yesterday we had an early celebration … having a hotpot lunch and some beer in the evening. I got wasted downing too much beer during Mothers’ Day … so this time … I had only 3 pints. 😛 Today I loaded a roll of… >> read more

Sardina Re-lovin

Written by • Jun 11th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
Here’s another roll of film that has been ‘fermenting’ in a camera for some time. This time … it is a roll of Lomography 100 negatives in my La Sardina. The La Sardina has been one of my favorite Lomography camera! Was lucky to have some light leaks thrown in for a couple of shots. 😀 Since around 99% of my free time is spent with Fitzand … the little boss’s face appears in quite many frames (again). Hmm … I can’t recall when I loaded this roll of film… >> read more

The One Year Old Roll

Written by • Jun 3rd, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
In an attempt to clear all halfway exposed rolls from my cameras, I took some random snaps on my Pentax MZ-S today and got the roll of Neopan 1600 developed (at home). What surprised me was the photos in this roll … some from about a year ago! How do I know? This one below is proof enough I guess … a photo of Jimmy (from ThirtySix) at last year’s beer fest! This year’s beer fest is coming real soon … so I guess it is almost a year already!… >> read more

Diana Returns!

Written by • May 24th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
Friends found it hard to believe when I told them that I shot only about a roll of 120 on my Diana F+ and maybe 15 frames on my LC-A+ during my recent vacation to Taiwan. It is not that I wasn’t trigger happy but … the *cough cough* truth is … I was spending too much time playing with the X-Pro1. Okay … let’s not talk about the X-Pro1 for now. There were some frames left in a roll that I loaded into my Diana F+ and it was… >> read more
