ETRsi + 135W : Test 2

Written by • Aug 10th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film

The 2nd roll from the test shoot. This time … a roll of Reala 100 which also has been sleeping in my fridge for the longest time. These shots were taken this afternoon when I took 2 hours off from babysitting Fitzand to meet up a friend in Chinatown for dim sum. Of course I took opportunity of the ‘freedom’ to burn a roll of film there!

This photo (above) is my favourite from the roll. This was actually the 2nd shot of a similar scene after I waited there… >> read more

ETRsi + 135W : Test 1

Written by • Aug 9th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film

Guess I got a little too trigger happy and ended with 3 rolls since yesterday … testing out my newly found joy … the 135W back for the Bronica ETRsi. Below are the photos from the first roll … mostly taken during a zoo trip with Fitzand yesterday. He is pretty capable in handling the scooter at the zoo now and I got to relax at the back (of course always on the alert when he starts to lose control being distracted by the animals). He will stop at almost… >> read more

Beast Gets Wide!

The Bronica ETRsi was one of the camera I bought just to ‘have a feel’ of how such camera works. Little did I know that I’ll end up loving that boxy heavy camera so much that I decided to not only keep it … but also get an extra lens and a couple of accessories for it. The last time I bought such a heavy beast … was the Kiev60 … the ‘bumble bee’ cam that I’ve used once and has been sitting heavy in my cabinet since.

The first… >> read more

Instant In A Box

This is probably something I had been working on for the longest time (just like trying to quit smoking). The original plan was to make an instant pinhole camera using a dead old Polaroid EE100 but after some initial disappointment and some headaches trying to remove the parts off the camera … I decided to work on a totally different DIY instant pinhole camera.

The mess I got from trying to modify the EE100 into an instant pinhole. LOL! I couldn’t remove the part where the original lens used to… >> read more

Instant Back!

Those guys at Lomography are some real clever devils! They married their Diana cameras with the Fujifilm’s Instax instant film … and … created a Diana Instant Back that uses the mini Instax film. Now that’s something I definitely want. I’ve long drooled for the Holga’s instant back that uses Polaroid/FP-100 film packs but after considering the cost of the back and the film, I decided to avoid it.

This back is definitely gonna make photography with the Diana camera more fun and of course make our wallets lighter by… >> read more

How to : Redscale film photography

Written by • Feb 17th, 2008 • Category: Others

All you’ve to do is load the film into a canister with the wrong side facing up. This means that the wrong side will get exposed instead. The result … weird and funky colored photos like this …
Here are some simple steps which I learned from some guys online …
What you need are two rolls of films. You are going to empty (waste) one of them, so it’s best if you have some expired or unwanted film to sacrifice. Let’s name the two rolls A and B. Roll… >> read more
