LB Soft Focus Optic : Analogue Test

Written by • Jan 3rd, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
After some initial test with my DSLR, I decided to try out the Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic (SFO) on my cheap old film SLR. I know that the Lensbaby lenses can work very well on that SLR but I was a little worried about the metering when using the SFO. This is because of the many weird ‘holes’ (ie. apertures) on the aperture disc. I found my SLR already loaded with a roll of Reala 100 film and had a few shots already taken … and took me a while… >> read more

Black Is Boring!

Written by • Nov 18th, 2009 • Category: Others
I’m sure some of you have seen these but I’ve just got to know that Pentax offers their K-x DSLR in many (really many!) cool colors. Ever since I started using those plastic cams like the Diana F+ clones etc, my black DSLR has been treated like the ugly duckling in my dry cabinet. I wonder if Canon will ever do something this cool and colorful. 100 of them? Really? Madness!!! I can imagine standing in the shop and having to pick one. Hahaha! Dear Santa … can you drop… >> read more

New Lensbaby Fun!

Written by • Oct 22nd, 2009 • Category: Others
From those cool people who brought us some special fun into the world of photography … Lensbaby … has just launched two new products to their already fun line of lenses and accessories … the Fisheye Optic and also the Soft Focus optic. The Fisheye optic works with the Composer but will need a special adapter to work well with the Muse. While the website didn’t mention anything about the Control Freak, I assume it is not compatible. Do correct me if I’m wrong. For those big fans of fisheye… >> read more

1st Holga, then Diana F+ & now this?

Written by • Oct 22nd, 2009 • Category: Others
I’m sure we all know about the colorful Holga and the recent Diana F+ CMYK … the candy colored plastic toy cameras. It is very strange (and funny) to see Pentax following the footsteps and introducing their own candy colored DSLR. Yeah … a real DSLR! Inspired by the Kore Ja Nai robo toy, this limited edition of 100 units (for Japan only) camera is definitely gonna get all the attention when you use it on the streets. For events where a DSLR is not allowed … I’m sure the… >> read more

Deja-vu! He Is Back!

Written by • Oct 5th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
Ever since I sold off my Fujifilm F200EXR, I’ve been left without a pocketable compact camera (I’ve a Lumix water/shock proof cam but that’s more for rough use (or Fitzand’s use) and the photos from it kinda sucks) and after messing around with a friend’s Ricoh GRD 3 … I used the $ from the F200EXR sale plus a couple of other cams I sold recently … to purchase a GRD 3. It’s like deja-vu when I opened up the box and held the camera in my hands. Yeah …… >> read more

Diana F+ Lens Adaptors?

Written by • Sep 16th, 2009 • Category: Toys
Lomography probably got tired of making more variations of the Diana F+ clones for a while and decided to make something a little different. Lens adaptors to use the Diana F+ lenses on SLRs/DSLRs! I’ll grab one of  these if they do have an adaptor for the Micro 4/3 … for my Olympus E-P1. Now I’m tempted to go DIY one for the Micro 4/3 mount! For now … it comes in Canon EOS and Nikon F mount only … and costs US$12 each. I’ll be a little worried using… >> read more

E-P1 : Virgin Shots

Written by • Jul 4th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
I could hardly sleep last night. Too excited to go ‘test drive’ my new Olympus E-P1 but today turned out to be another busy day and I had only opportunity to press the trigger randomly to test out the sexy cam. Not sure why some people online says that focusing is a little slow on this camera … I find it very fast! Perhaps they were using the other kit lens and not this 17mm one. The first one was taken during lunch today. You can see Fitzand’s finger and… >> read more

A Love Story

Written by • Jul 4th, 2009 • Category: Toys
Here’s a real love story that has a beautiful sweet ending. A long long time ago … Miss EE-2 (born between 1968 to 1977) noticed that her elder brother, Mr F (born around 1963) was feeling depressed. He was old and horny lonely. So one day, Miss EE-2 decided to find her poor lonely brother a soul mate. Month after month she searched high and low for the perfect partner that she hoped might bring joy and happiness to her brother. After a long search, finally she came to know… >> read more

Drool Factor

Here I am … still stuck in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam … feeling really bored and can’t wait to go home tomorrow … and along came a piece of mouth-watering news about the eagerly awaited Olympus’s first Micro Four Third camera … the Olympus E-P1! Inspired by the sleek good old Olympus Pen F … this E-P1 is one hell of a sexy camera too! I prefer the while/lighter colored version and also the slim 17mm lens as it looks way cool. Now I’ve to decided if I should sell… >> read more

Oh No! Oh No!

Written by • May 6th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
Those who has visited this blog of mine before might remember seeing this blog entry about my search for this teddy bear in yellow clothes … The trouble tonight is that he got left behind at the childcare! Oh no! Minutes ago Fitzand was looking for it and luckily I reminded the maid to tell him that the bear is in the washing machine ‘taking a bath’. Well if I had not told her that and Fitzand was told that the bear is left behind in the childcare … I’m… >> read more
