Approaching Four

Written by • Dec 5th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
Weeks to go before Fitzand turns 4. Time really flies eh? I wanted to take a few snaps of him with his new toy gun … and asked if he’d like to have his photos taken. He looked at me for a while and ran to my room … went to my desk … reached for my Instanx Mini cam (that he saw a couple of nights ago) and picked it up. I knew some film were gonna be burned. *sweat*. Here are some self-portraits by him … This one… >> read more

Taipei : The Streets

Written by • Nov 21st, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
About 12 hours  from now and I’ll be (reluctantly) leaving this place. A little too tired to type much now but following the ‘tradition’ of my earlier streetshooting set in Tokyo (here, here, here & here) … I will end this short vacation with some street photos taken with the E-P1 in the ‘grainy black & white’ mode … and just resized for web. I always love the thrill of street shooting. No … not with a long lens hiding from far but to go real close to the ‘action’… >> read more

Let’s Get Fat

Written by • Nov 18th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
It is already the 5th day since I landed here in Taiwan for a year-end break. Gosh. How time flies. Come Sunday and I’ll have to get my fat butt back in Singapore … and the next day … to W . O . R . K !!!!!!!! Strange but true … I wasn’t really in the mood to take much photo since the day I landed. Not only with my analogue cams … but also digital ones. I ended up shooting more short video clips instead. Hahaha! The last… >> read more

The Getaway

Written by • Sep 5th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
Took 2 days off and brought my family for a short getaway at Sentosa. Checked in a chalet (which doesn’t sell beer!) and had a great time at the Universal Studios Singapore (USS) for two days. Took Fitzand for some fun at the beach (he loves to play there) on the first day and the sunset that evening was beautiful! The next 2 days were spent playing in the USS and despite the fact that I decided not to bring along my Spinner 360 … I was made to spin… >> read more

Kipon Tilt Adapter

Written by • Jul 13th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
My dream of getting a tilt-shift adapter to use on my Olympus E-P1/E-PL1 went crashing out of the window when I found out that a Japanese company/shop was coming out with one that costs about US$400. That’s a lot of money for an adapter and I gave up all hopes … until recently … somehow my itchy fingers typed ‘w … w … w … e … b … a … y … c … o … m’. Out of the blue, I was suddenly reminded of the tilt-shift adapter… >> read more

06062010

Written by • Jun 7th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
Another weekend just came and went. As much as I’d like to spend more time with my cameras, I decided to dedicate more almost all the time with Fitzand … despite knowing the fact that I’ll be dead tired come Sunday night. The best part was by the time Fitzand went to bed (early) … I found that my modem died a natural death and I was left without internet access. Grrrr! Yet to finish a couple of rolls on different cameras, so this entry will be peppered with just… >> read more

Warm Night, Cold Noods

Written by • Apr 15th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
After selling off my DSLR body yesterday, I managed to let go my macro lens this evening. This means I’ve only 2 more lenses to sell before I am officially ‘DSLRless’. Someone’s coming over to check out the Sigma 10-20 lens tomorrow evening and I do hope he’ll help me clear off one more lens. These are a couple more of random test shots with the E-PL1 just now during dinner with my family (while waiting for the buyer who wanted my macro lens). I’ve had soba for the 2nd… >> read more

E-P1 Has A Little Brother

Written by • Apr 14th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
Most of you will know that I love my Olympus E-P1 lots and not too long ago when its little brother … the E-PL1 was launched … I did mention that it looks ugly and ain’t too interested about it. A friend recently bought a black E-PL1 and told me that it “doesn’t feel solid enough” … compared to a DSLR(???!!!). I tried not to laugh. Why in the world would anyone try compare the feel of using that entry level ‘grown up point and shoot’ with a DSLR? I… >> read more

Cutie And Yummy

Written by • Mar 9th, 2010 • Category: Others
After the recent cool ‘gold metal’ skin by Gariz for the Olympus E-P1, along comes a super cute and colorful one that I find very very interesting. A little too cute for an old man like me and if I ever get my E-P1 dressed up like this … it will definitely end up in Fitzand’s hands for good. The same company also has a big time poison which I am very afraid of. It is a tilt-shift adapter for the E-P1/E-P2. The website is in Japanese but I think… >> read more

Splashing Weekend

Written by • Feb 28th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
Fitzand probably had the most splashing weekend ever. We finally let him go play at those water ‘fountain’ thingie at some playgrounds/play area at malls. Of course we went prepared with extra clothing and towel. 😀 He loved every single second at it. This one’s taken today at Bugis Junction. Only took a couple of snapshots because I have this weird ‘phobia’ of taking shots of kids at these fountains. Hahaha. Read about it at the end of this entry. We were at Vivocity yesterday for dinner and he got… >> read more
