A week after this cool toy arrived and finally I find time to unbox it. Yeah … life’s been really busy these days and there is never a dull moment but I sure miss my cameras. Anyway … the Instant Lab arrived after I totally forgotten that I pledged for one some many months back. First I received a notification that it is leaving Hong Kong on the way to my desk in Singapore … and a couple of days later the status (on the postal tracking site) indicated that… >> read more

This is the 2nd roll I shot with the Pentax MZ-S. It is the 2nd and final roll of color (xpro-ed) film I shot before I switched to using the GR21 with black & white film. I can’t remember exactly what that roll of expired film was but ermm … nevermind.
I suspect that if I had not bought the GR21 and started doing some test shots with it … I might have ended up shooting 5 or more rolls with the MZ-S. It has become my favourite film SLR… >> read more
Loaded a roll of expired Neopan 400 the moment I bought my GR21 in Tokyo last week. As the weather was a little cranky … one day of sun and another day of drizzle … I thought it will be good to be safe and shoot with the ISO400 film to test out the camera. Well … it was a little risk I had to take as I’d only know if the camera works fine (though it looks minty) after I get the rolls developed when I’m back here in… >> read more
Here’s the first roll of film from my vacation last week. I didn’t shoot many rolls as I was too busy entertaining the little one (as usual). If you have seen the video (of him) I posted … you can probably guess how busy I was … being his private videographer. Anyway … here’s a roll of long expired Sensia 400 cross processed. These were shot using my Pentax MZ-S which I lugged along … planning to buy a used lens for it … but ended up not doing so… >> read more
We decided to skip the trip to the Bandai museum as I read that it only opens to pubic on weekends and Fitzand is only interested to check out the Power Rangers stuffs. As an alternative, we brought him to Hakuhinkan Toy Park near Ginza … one of the largest and best toy stores here in Tokyo. As expected … he was complaining about the long walk and train rides but this time a lot less because I promised to buy him toys.
He saw many of his favourite Power… >> read more
After some months of ‘rest’, my Fujifilm GF670 got to go out for some fun again. This roll of long expired Fujifilm Pro 160s had a few exposures … ermm … exposed … and I was trying to finish shooting it. I am beginning to think that I should shoot only 120 film as I have way too little time for photography nowdays.
There was a small problem with the folding mechanism some months back … but after a close inspection … apparently it was something I dropped that got… >> read more
The Last Camera from Superheadz is the latest DIY camera that got some of us all excited and curious about. Picked up a set from ThirtySix yesterday and after Fitzand went to bed … me and my old eyes started work on trying to assemble the many little parts in the package. Due to the many tiny parts … I just can’t risk trying to assemble it while Fitzand is watching TV … as he will keep coming to tell me stuffs like ‘Daddy … Megatron is dead ya know?’.… >> read more
Happy Fathers’ Day!!!
Now time sure zap past real fast and it is another Fathers’ Day. It was just last year that I did a short video for the ‘Papa Amigo‘ feature in Lomography’s website.
This year Fitzand made me some lovely cards in school and yesterday we had an early celebration … having a hotpot lunch and some beer in the evening. I got wasted downing too much beer during Mothers’ Day … so this time … I had only 3 pints.
Today I loaded a roll of Kentmere… >> read more
After resisting getting one (or more) of those very delicious looking stripey yummy edition of the La Sardina (the Diana F+ clones are already sending me to my grave), my weak ol’ heart was put to test again when I saw this very sleek version of the Lomokino lately. The MUBI edition!
Isn’t it sexy??!!
It’s the perfect match – Lomography have joined forces with MUBI to bring you the first LomoKino special edition. Featuring the signature of the Palme D’Or winning Director Apichatpong Weerasethakul, the LomoKino MUBI Edition is… >> read more
Personally … I think these are two of the most beautiful cameras Lomography ever created. Really! Now that’s my personal opinion … maybe because I love how raw they look. Lomography … why do you have to do this? Even if you have to do it … why do two of them at the same time?!!! I ain’t got a piggy in my Lomography account and I still need to keep some money for beer! Duh!
When I first saw the Coyote … I told myself ‘Okay … get this… >> read more
