3 Days Away, 2 Troubles

Written by • Nov 20th, 2011 • Category: Others
Three days away from home … three (painful) days without internet access … and I reached back here in Singapore with my email account flooded with mails, my blog guestbook flooded with few spam entries trying to sell me Viagra … and in that pile of unread emails … there were two pretty ‘deadly’ ones! This first one is from a blog reader who asked if I’ll have a ‘sneak preview’ of a Holga panoramic camera (thanks, Erik!) Huh? I thought the pano camera was the old pinhole one but… >> read more

Sardina Metal : Unboxing

Written by • Nov 3rd, 2011 • Category: Toys
The metal editions of the La Sardina proved too tempting and I picked both of them up from ThirtySix this afternoon. From the online images I saw of them … I did have a little doubt … that it will be just some cheap flimsy ‘metal’ covered with some gold paint on? I couldn’t wait to get home to unbox them and this is one rare occasion I decided to take some photos of the unboxing process. The two metal babies waiting to be unboxed! Unlike the plastic versions, the… >> read more

Sardina Gone Metal!

Written by • Oct 13th, 2011 • Category: Others
As usual … Lomography started to ‘poison’ us with some ‘news’ about getting all excited about new ‘toys’ that they were launching. I was praying it would be just some new flash or film … but tragedy struck when I saw that they’ve launched two new metal editions of the La Sardina camera! To make things worse … they seem to look really pretty! Maybe I should tell wifey that I am gonna invest in gold and call up ThirtySix to order two of these metal guys. Hmm … The… >> read more

Glitter Rocket

Written by • Apr 23rd, 2011 • Category: Others
During my recent trip to visit my folks in Malaysia, I packed along my Sprocket Rocket thinking I could fire some rolls there but as I was lurking around the paint section in a hardware shop … I suddenly had an idea to create something a little different as a present for my friend Jimmy (from ThirtySix). I saw some gold paint and thought maybe I could give my Sprocket Rocket a new look and give it to him (and soon go buy a brand new one from him again).… >> read more

Unboxing Tori

Written by • Dec 30th, 2010 • Category: Toys
I shiver whenever I hear my name being called while waiting at a dentist queue but it is a totally different story when I hear my name being called while I’m busy pounding my keyboard at my work desk. Of course the voice (of the person calling my name) must be from a stranger … and that is usually … the postman! A large parcel arrived today (a little late for Christmas but who’s complaining?!) and it in … the Tori Amos special edition Diana F+ camera! I was dead… >> read more

UPDATE Oh yeah! Looks like this is the real thing and only 130 of them are available at … € 500.00 each!!! OMG! Get yours today!!! Muwahaha! After the recent launch of the mystery product (although not a mystery anymore because of some leak about it … thanks to Patrick :P) which is the Instant Back for the LC-A+/LC-A, Lomography seemed to have another toy ready to poison the world. This time … they also got the fans to guess the mystery product … The little bits of images to… >> read more

The Sexy And The Ugly

Written by • Feb 2nd, 2010 • Category: Toys
After a very short stay with me, the Lumix FT1 camera was sold off because I somehow find the photos from it … horrible. Not sure if I got a lemon unit but the photos from it doesn’t seem to be of any good. Considering my already very low requirements from a compact camera, that one was quite a hopeless case. Anyway, after I recently sold off my Canon IVsb old rangefinder, I had some spare cash on hand and decided to burn it on a new digital toy. I… >> read more

Sticky Sticky Sunday

Written by • Dec 27th, 2009 • Category: Toys
Dropped by the post office today to collect a package that was supposed to be in my hands on X’mas eve but unfortunately my office was closed when the postman arrived. Some of you might have read in my earlier entry about this metal sticker set by Gariz (in Korea) for the Olympus E-P1 … I thought it looked pretty cool and thus placed order for it through Gmarket. The entire ordering process was very fast and the item was shipped from Korea to me (using EMS) in a couple… >> read more

Go For Gold

Written by • Dec 19th, 2009 • Category: Toys
After seeing some of those ‘skins’ available for the Olympus E-P1, I wasn’t really impressed with any of those. They have those ‘leather’ skins (black ones seem to go well with the silver E-P1 though) and some have those ‘wooden’ pattern on them. The one that made me went ‘wow’ was one I saw today from a company in Korea called Gariz. They have this ‘metal sticker’ that’s gold in color and has some neat graphics on then. That company seems to make other stickers for other cameras and gadgets… >> read more

Golden What?

Written by • Jul 22nd, 2009 • Category: Lead Story
Came across this weird looking camera called ‘Goldeneye’ in some online store and thought some of you might be interested to know (or buy?) it. Hardly can find much info about it online though. I guess it’s one of those plastic cameras that looks pretty cute (like the Golden Half) but this is not a half frame camera. From images, it looks pretty sleek with the gold & white theme eh? The gold colored front ‘cover’ seems to flip open to reveal a flash and some cool looking ‘dials’ inside.… >> read more
