A week after this cool toy arrived and finally I find time to unbox it. Yeah … life’s been really busy these days and there is never a dull moment but I sure miss my cameras. Anyway … the Instant Lab arrived after I totally forgotten that I pledged for one some many months back. First I received a notification that it is leaving Hong Kong on the way to my desk in Singapore … and a couple of days later the status (on the postal tracking site) indicated that… >> read more

It has been over a week since I took this shot with my SX-70 and it is only now that I remember to scan it. Maybe I’ll try take a couple more shots this weekend … scan them and try do emulsion lift before the images fade away (like my memory). The film used was a pack of Impossible Project’s PX70 Color Protection.

It is never a good idea bringing Fitzand to the camera shops as he will make me buy him some Instax Mini film with cartoon frames. The last trip to ThirtySix with him resulted in the purchase of a few packs of those cute film but I’ve been forgetting to use them til last weekend … on his birthday. He was delighted to see me loading the pack of film after I finished a couple of remaining plain frame ones.

It was an ‘accident’ turned into some cool tip to add light leaks into pack films. Brian from Rural Decay shared me with this new trick that makes me wanna pick up some new film to experiment with. Here are some of the sample results from Brian …
I like such photos (yeah … messy … madness … magic!).

It is finally (almost) here! The Impossible Lessons by ThirtySix … featuring some very interesting exhibitions (including some of mine of course … ahem …) that’s gonna be … like some like to say … ‘epic’. The exhibition is not just about the usual snapped photos … but a showcase of some very experimental and cool stuffs. Do drop by to support us okay?

As part of a series of experiments done in collaboration with those guys from ThirtySix, I squeezed out a little bit of my time during the weekend to play with a Polaroid Spectra camera & two packs of film. Unfortunately the initial few shots went to heaven as the experiment didn’t turn out well. Few more shots ended up in hell because for some weird reason … the film got jammed while the camera was ejecting it. I had no choice but to take out the pack of film and… >> read more
I was at ThirtySix yesterday to pick up some Instax Wide film and since Fitzand was with me … I asked if he’d like a pack of the Instax Mini that has cartoons on them. Jimmy almost got me into big trouble when he took 4 packs of the film with different cartoons on them … and placed them right in front of Fitzand. Luckily Fitzand picked only one … the one with Winnie The Pooh design and I escaped from paying for another 3 packs of the highly addictive… >> read more
I don’t remember anything mentioned in the instruction manual about using flash with the LC-A+/LC-Wide instant back and being a curious fat cat … I mounted the Colorsplash flash on the LC-Wide this evening to see how it performs. It is a little tricky mounting the flash with the Instant Back on (I couldn’t remove the back because I have a pack of film it in) but that’s just a small challenge.
I went ‘WHOAAA!’ when I saw the results! It looks a little … or rather … very crazy!… >> read more
I wasn’t planning to get the Instant Kit for the LC-Wide because I’ve not been too satisfied with the photos that the instant back produce when paired with my LC-A+. However things got a little different when Jimmy (from ThirtySix) gave me a Instant Kit last weekend and told me to bring along my LC-Wide and the instant back … and some of course some film.

My pack of Impossible Project’s PX680 Color Shade beta test film is finally empty after these.
Do I wanna buy more of these later? Hmm …
I’m dying to finish the last 6 shots on my LC-A+ but somehow it seems very difficult lately. Hahahaha! Noreen would say ‘no soul!’ for sure. Anyway … I’m looking forward to the outing to the zoo with some friends on World Pinhole day. Hope I can fire a couple of rolls (120) on the Multi Pinhole Operator that day.… >> read more
