Stardust Edition – La Sardina

Written by • Oct 13th, 2012 • Category: Others
Not sure if it was a big mistake agreeing to help a friend ‘dress up’ a La Sardina as a present for one of her friends. While I was toying with a few ideas on ‘dressing up’ the camera, she told me that the design has to be elegant. Huh? Elegant? That’s something I will have some problem creating! She told me that she trusts what I can come up with (crazy?!) and so I agreed and went on toying with some ‘elegant’ ideas. Hahaha! Knowing myself … I’ll go… >> read more

Sardina Re-lovin

Written by • Jun 11th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
Here’s another roll of film that has been ‘fermenting’ in a camera for some time. This time … it is a roll of Lomography 100 negatives in my La Sardina. The La Sardina has been one of my favorite Lomography camera! Was lucky to have some light leaks thrown in for a couple of shots. 😀 Since around 99% of my free time is spent with Fitzand … the little boss’s face appears in quite many frames (again). Hmm … I can’t recall when I loaded this roll of film… >> read more

So Want These!

Written by • Feb 9th, 2012 • Category: Others
Personally … I think these are two of the most beautiful cameras Lomography ever created. Really! Now that’s my personal opinion … maybe because I love how raw they look. Lomography … why do you have to do this? Even if you have to do it … why do two of them at the same time?!!! I ain’t got a piggy in my Lomography account and I still need to keep some money for beer! Duh! When I first saw the Coyote … I told myself ‘Okay … get this… >> read more

Sardina Metal : Unboxing

Written by • Nov 3rd, 2011 • Category: Toys
The metal editions of the La Sardina proved too tempting and I picked both of them up from ThirtySix this afternoon. From the online images I saw of them … I did have a little doubt … that it will be just some cheap flimsy ‘metal’ covered with some gold paint on? I couldn’t wait to get home to unbox them and this is one rare occasion I decided to take some photos of the unboxing process. The two metal babies waiting to be unboxed! Unlike the plastic versions, the… >> read more

No Love For These

Written by • Oct 20th, 2011 • Category: Others
While I was still waiting for a good offer to buy my liver so that I could afford the 2 metal editions of the La Sardina, I thought I might have to let go my lungs too when I saw that there are 4 new special editions of the camera. Thank God these 4 designs don’t seem to tempt me much (if at all). Phew!!! Okay … I must admit the Cubic version does look pretty nice. Perhaps if the first original 4 versions (with retro looking sardines and all)… >> read more

Sardina Gone Metal!

Written by • Oct 13th, 2011 • Category: Others
As usual … Lomography started to ‘poison’ us with some ‘news’ about getting all excited about new ‘toys’ that they were launching. I was praying it would be just some new flash or film … but tragedy struck when I saw that they’ve launched two new metal editions of the La Sardina camera! To make things worse … they seem to look really pretty! Maybe I should tell wifey that I am gonna invest in gold and call up ThirtySix to order two of these metal guys. Hmm … The… >> read more

Battle Of The Wides

Written by • Jul 23rd, 2011 • Category: Others
Some friends asked me about which Lomo/toy camera should they go for if they wanna shoot wide. In the past, I’d tell them to either get the LC-A+ with the wide angle lens attachment or the (way cheaper but needs lots more light and careful usage) Vivitar Ultra Wide & Slim (UWS) (also rebranded as the Superheadz’s Wide Lens Camera). Now with the introduction of few newer cameras from Lomography, it is harder to answer that question (which wide angle cam to go for). We now have the LC-Wide, La… >> read more

La Sardina : The Test Roll

Written by • Jun 28th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
The La Sardina came just in time for my short trip to KL and being desperate to burn a test roll and didn’t have much time to go around … I shot most of it at my brother’s place … of course the kiddos became my models in most of them. It was pretty sunny but since we were under shade, I used the flash set at the 1/8 setting. Luckily it turned out okay. I must say the La Sardina is one hell fun camera! Just like most other… >> read more

La Sardinas : Which One?

Written by • Jun 22nd, 2011 • Category: Toys
The much anticipated pretty new toy cameras from Lomography arrived at ThirtySix! The La Sardinas! I couldn’t decide on which one to buy and after some very (tough) consideration … I went for all four. 🙁 Why is it that difficult to decide? Well … unlike cameras like the Blackbird, Fly which is a matter of choosing the color … the La Sardina has more to offer (in terms of the design). See below for some snapshots of the differences and try pick one that you like. 😉 The El… >> read more
