Experiments & Heartbreaks

Written by • Aug 22nd, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
As part of a series of experiments done in collaboration with those guys from ThirtySix, I squeezed out a little bit of my time during the weekend to play with a Polaroid Spectra camera & two packs of film. Unfortunately the initial few shots went to heaven as the experiment didn’t turn out well. Few more shots ended up in hell because for some weird reason … the film got jammed while the camera was ejecting it. I had no choice but to take out the pack of film and… >> read more

PX680 : The Last Few

My pack of Impossible Project’s PX680 Color Shade beta test film is finally empty after these. πŸ™ Do I wanna buy more of these later? Hmm … I’m dying to finish the last 6 shots on my LC-A+ but somehow it seems very difficult lately. Hahahaha! Noreen would say ‘no soul!’ for sure. Anyway … I’m looking forward to the outing to the zoo with some friends on World Pinhole day. Hope I can fire a couple of rolls (120) on the Multi Pinhole Operator that day.… >> read more

Blessed PX680

Met up with an ex-colleague today for a quick beer (which ended up with ermm … quite a lot of beer in quite a little bit of time) and managed to whip out my Polaroid cammie for 2 test shots with a pack of the Impossible Project’s PX680 Color Shade beta test film … courtesy of the famous Cyanwater. Somehow after my several disappointing results (most my fault) with the Impossible film … the first 2 shots from this pack seemed to make me go ‘whoa! yeah!’. I know it… >> read more

Black Frame : Last Two

Written by • Apr 3rd, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Finished my first (and only) pack of the Impossible Project’s PX600 UV+ black frame film today. After the first few photos, someone asked if this film still has some sepia tint to them and that made me take a second look at the earlier photos in the day light. Hmm … if my old fuzzyeyeballs are not tricking me … they do actually have a little sepia tint to them. I scanned my earlier photos in black & white mode and thus they look a little different under the daylight.… >> read more

The Good, The Tragic

Written by • Mar 24th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Celebrating their ‘One Impossible Year’, the Impossible Project recently launched a pair of special edition PX600 UV+ film … the Black Frame Edition & Grey Frame Edition. Lucky me … I managed to intoxicate the guy from ThirtySix with lots of beer last week and grabbed myself a ‘sample pack’. Hahahaha! Don’t let him you know this trick. Okay? πŸ˜€ Perhaps I should stay away from these (pretty expensive) cool film. Why? I’m always making big mistakes when handling the Polaroid cams. Duh. I wasted two on some very boring… >> read more

If you’ve seen my recent attempt at using the PX70 Color Shade PUSH film on my SX-70, you probably know that I refrained from finishing the last 3 shots from that pack after seeing some not very satisfying results. Yesterday I decided to sacrifice another shot to see if this will be the last (and only) pack of this film that I’ll buy. Well … the answer is unfortunately definitely a big ‘YES’. πŸ™ I’ll pick up some other type of film instead. Two more shots left before this pack… >> read more

Pushing It

Written by • Jan 17th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Fed my SX-70 with a pack of PX70 Color Shade PUSH film that I bought recently and after figuring out what I need to do to ‘push’ … I gave it a go. Somehow I still prefer the Artistic Z film but well … I was curious … I like the cool black cover it spits out. πŸ˜› This one above is the first shot. I was a little shocked when the film ‘spit out’ from the camera was blue (on the image area). Took quite a while and finally… >> read more
