Jr. Scientist Toy Cam

Written by • May 29th, 2012 • Category: Toys
A friend (Lee Jiing … another photography addict) posted a photo of this plastic camera that comes with the Jr. Scientist magazine on Facebook and being curious (as usual) … I dropped him a message and he told me he found it at Toys R Us while shopping for toys for his kiddos. Toys R Us! Looking very much like another one of those Gakken DIY plastic cameras … I decided to pick one up to take a look … at least get it assembled for fun … and see… >> read more

Pinhole Day 2012

Written by • Apr 29th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs
My last (full) day here in Taipei (well … tomorrow we’ll be flying back at 4pm) and it is World Pinhole Day … and I came prepared with the Lensbaby pinhole for some pinhole action. As expected, I can’t spend too much time shooting pinhole and let my family wait … so here are some shots I took today … I did have my Diana F+ with me but didn’t use it for shooting pinhole as it will take looooooooong exposures and I don’t have much time to spare. Luckily… >> read more

Headache, Fun & Girl Power

Written by • Feb 5th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs
A bad headache came knocking after breakfast but all I could do was swallow some pills and tried to get back into my normal mode. After his music class this morning, I still had to bring Fitzand for the ‘Mulan – The Legendary Heroine (an interactive storyhouse performance) later in the day. To make things worse, the lady at the cafe forgot to serve me my double expresso when we were having a break before the performance (an instant cure for most of my problems) and I had to do… >> read more

SLR Magic Pinhole : Test 1

Written by • Feb 4th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs
Tried very hard to take some test shots with the SLR Magic’s Pinhole (paired with my good ol’ E-P1) today when out with my family. Luckily I had some time out in the sun and managed to squeeze out 10 test shots. You might notice some dust (quite a lot of them!) spots on the photos … as I was too lazy to clone out all of them. 😛 You can actually see and compose the scene on the LCD if you are shooting out in the sun. Indoors …… >> read more

SLR Magic Pinhole For M43

Written by • Feb 1st, 2012 • Category: Toys
I sold off my Wanderlust Pinwide some time ago in anticipation of this one from SLR Magic and after some waiting … finally it came knocking at my door yesterday. The company has yet to officially sell this sexy pinhole ‘lens’ … so this is a special preview and I’ve no idea of the pricing yet. Introducing the SLR Magic Pinhole for Micro 4/3 (M43) cameras! Here are some photos of the unboxing process … The SLR Magic Toy Lens Pinhole comes in cute little box that has a similar… >> read more

Battlefield Pinhole Cam!

Written by • Jul 29th, 2011 • Category: Others
Came across this super duper awesome DIY camera tutorial … to make a ‘Battlefield Pinhole Camera’ by photographer Steven Monteau and thought maybe some of you might wanna build something similar. I was going ‘whoaaaa!’ and itching to try it out but I’ve hardly got enough free time to work on these fun projects lately. 🙁 Anyway … the camera takes 3 rolls of 35mm film and exposes them simultaneously! I’ve seen some photos taken with 2 35mm strips on a Holga but this one … 3 rolls … and… >> read more

Sweaty Pinhole Day

Written by • Apr 24th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
Joined some friends from LomotionSG for a World Pinhole Day outing to the zoo today and after being kicked outta bed by Fitzand at around 7am … it was a really tiring outing. To make things worse … weather was ultra hot and wifey was complaining about being hot and tired. Baaaah!!! Luckily I still managed to finish a roll of 120 on the Multi Pinhole Operator but I ain’t sure if anything is gonna come outta it. We’ll see tomorrow when I make a trip to the lab. Anyway… >> read more

Pinwide In The Day

Written by • Apr 10th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
After my recent first tests with the Wanderlust’s Pinwide indoors, finally I got to test it in the bright sun light. The fun thing about using it in the day is that you get to see what you are shooting on the LCD. Yeah … I thought I wouldn’t see a thing since the pinhole is so tiny … but I was wrong. You can actually see (though not 100% clear) what you are shooting. That makes things a bit easier but somehow takes away a bit of the fun… >> read more

Love The Spam!

Written by • Apr 7th, 2011 • Category: Others
Don’t you dare try spam me though. 😀 This is a ‘making of’ video for a ‘Spamera’ … a DIY pinhole camera using an empty Spam can … done by the talented Noreen (aka Miun). She told me about this little project of hers, and she was making this as a birthday present for ‘Queen’ Cyanwater … the famous Lomographer and lady boss of ThirtySix. Noreen did asked if I’d be interested to make one too … and at that time I foolishly told her I’d be interested to try… >> read more

Wanderlust Pinwide!

Written by • Apr 6th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
Quite some time back, a friend sent me a link about backing a new product, a pinhole cap for the Micro 4/3 cameras … and after some consideration … I killed some money in my PayPal account and waited (not very) patiently. What we did was pledge a certain amount of money … and if they hit the required amount, they’ll start producing it. Great news came one day when they updated us saying that they’ve met the amount and some prototypes were being made. Finally my pledge of US$39… >> read more
