A bad headache came knocking after breakfast but all I could do was swallow some pills and tried to get back into my normal mode. After his music class this morning, I still had to bring Fitzand for the ‘Mulan – The Legendary Heroine (an interactive storyhouse performance) later in the day. To make things worse, the lady at the cafe forgot to serve me my double expresso when we were having a break before the performance (an instant cure for most of my problems) and I had to do… >> read more

Tried very hard to take some test shots with the SLR Magic’s Pinhole (paired with my good ol’ E-P1) today when out with my family. Luckily I had some time out in the sun and managed to squeeze out 10 test shots. You might notice some dust (quite a lot of them!) spots on the photos … as I was too lazy to clone out all of them.
You can actually see and compose the scene on the LCD if you are shooting out in the sun. Indoors … you… >> read more
I sold off my Wanderlust Pinwide some time ago in anticipation of this one from SLR Magic and after some waiting … finally it came knocking at my door yesterday. The company has yet to officially sell this sexy pinhole ‘lens’ … so this is a special preview and I’ve no idea of the pricing yet. Introducing the SLR Magic Pinhole for Micro 4/3 (M43) cameras!
Here are some photos of the unboxing process …
The SLR Magic Toy Lens Pinhole comes in cute little box that has a similar… >> read more
Finally home from a short trip to Malaysia. Usually I have a bit more time for photography there as my parents will help entertain Fitzand a little … while I can have a little peace of mind to snap away. Here are some digital ones taken using the SLR Magic Toy Lens and extension tube combo … on my E-P1.
There were supposed to be more photos but somehow I was ‘inspired’ to work on something pretty ermm … special during this trip there. I can’t mention or post photos… >> read more
Quite some time back, a friend sent me a link about backing a new product, a pinhole cap for the Micro 4/3 cameras … and after some consideration … I killed some money in my PayPal account and waited (not very) patiently. What we did was pledge a certain amount of money … and if they hit the required amount, they’ll start producing it. Great news came one day when they updated us saying that they’ve met the amount and some prototypes were being made.
Finally my pledge of US$39… >> read more
Got kicked outta bed (on a Saturday morning!) by Fitzand at about 7am and struggled to stay awake the entire day. I decided to play with the SLR Magic’s Toy Lens again today but told myself to give it a short rest while I get back to the film stuffs for a week or two. I ended up with only a few snapshots while having beer with an old friend after a lunch buffet. Gosh … am I feeling sleepy now! Okay … I’ll make this is a super short… >> read more
Since my last blog entry about the Toy Lens from SLR Magic, I got some requests for more sample photos and also a couple of questions … asking if I do find it fun. I decided to give up trying to write a review about this lens because … ermm … I can’t write well … I ain’t good at doing reviews … and ermmm …. I will just end up saying ‘Buy this lens! It is fun!’.
Focal length : 26mm (52mm on m4/3)
Aperture : f1.4 – f8.0… >> read more
This new toy arrived at my desk … just a day after I placed an order (from Hong Kong). Super fast! The Toy Lens from SLR Magic … a lens that a blog reader/friend … ‘poisoned’ me with recently. You know who you are?!!!
With a focal length of 26mm (which equals a 52mm on M4/3) … this little lens sure sounds fun! So how does it perform (or in toy lens/cam lovers’ perspective … ‘not perform’)?
The lens is TINY! It is even smaller than the Pentax 25mm f1.4… >> read more
Ever since I mentioned in my blog that I bought the Kipon tilt adapter for my E-P1 … I got quite a number of emails asking me if it is of any good.
Honestly I replied those emails with a very vague answer. Hahaha! ‘I am not very sure’. Well it all depends on what we expect from it. Those who has used a real tilt-shift lens might not like it … while people with low expectations (like me) find it pretty interesting. So I added in those replies that… >> read more
The childcare center organized a short outing to Chinatown this morning and I accompanied Fitzand there. Honestly I was a little worried because the last time I was there (one evening many years ago), the crowd was scary and I almost fainted after 10 minutes. Fortunately the outing was in the morning and the crowd hasn’t build up (yet). Phew! As parents were with the kiddos, we were mostly moving around by ourselves instead of sticking to one big group.
The first thing Fitzand told me when we arrived …… >> read more
