Birthday Reloaded!

Written by • Apr 11th, 2012 • Category: Toys
It has been almost a month since my birthday and today … when I was at ThirtySix buying some film in preparation for a short vacation come month end … I received a super duper awesome cool present from those guys there! Well … I was supposed to buy the Sahara Diana F+ to add to my Diana camera family but when I asked for the bill … I was told to pay something less than 50 bucks. I told Noreen (Miun) at the counter that I am buying the… >> read more

Skinny Santa Sent Cammie

Written by • Dec 17th, 2011 • Category: Toys
One year ago … those awesome people from ThirtySix gave me a super duper surprise when they gave me the Wrangler special edition Diana F+ for Christmas. That camera was meant to be a prize for some competition and they managed to hunt one down for me (which they still refuse to tell me how they did it). This year … last night … I met up with Jimmy for some beer at a barbeque session and after some beer … he turned into the skinniest Santa ever and gave… >> read more

Unmasking Negativity : Pics

Written by • Oct 23rd, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
A week sure zapped by fast and the 1 week exhibition of my ‘Unmasking Negativity’ at ThirtySix comes to an end. For those who didn’t make it there for the exhibition, here are the photos … This one above was the first photo that made it into this set. If you haven’t already read about it earlier, these are negatives from the Impossible Project’s PZ680 film and they were bleached to obtain this blue-ish and weird negative results. It wasn’t really easy coming out with these photos as I had… >> read more

Unmasking Negativity : How?

Written by • Oct 17th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
‘Unmasking Negativity : The Truth Beneath’ is part of the ‘Impossible Lessons’ exhibition where a handful of people get to showcase and share special ‘tricks’ and experiments done using the Impossible Project films and Spectra cameras. I was pretty lost in the beginning … not knowing what to do and neither had I any experiment in mind. Doing stuffs like double exposures seemed a little too common … so I decided to take a risk (and waste lots of film) and try something different. Perhaps it was just luck that… >> read more

The Aftermath

Written by • Oct 14th, 2011 • Category: Others
It has been on display at ThirtySix as part of the Impossible Lessons exhibition for almost a week already. This is the one camera I blogged about spending lots of time & effort on. After doing some pretty looking ‘dressed up’ cameras in the past, this one is a big change … as I was trying to beautify and then ‘uglify’ it. Sorry about the lousy photos of it … as I could only shoot with one hand that day. It was hours before I delivered the camera to ThirtySix… >> read more

Impossible Artist #1

Written by • Oct 7th, 2011 • Category: Others
This is the guy who ‘saved my life’ by replacing me as the first to go for the Impossible Lessons series of exhibition. I can’t wait to see his set of very interesting macro works done in an instant way! Lawrence Chiam Specimens – A Botanist’s Strange Encounters 10/10 – 15/10 “The wide format film for the Spectra camera is ideal for the curious scientist to document specimens of the strange yet beautiful world of the living organisms.” Check out more info on this talented Lomographer & the exhibition here.… >> read more

Experiments & Heartbreaks

Written by • Aug 22nd, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
As part of a series of experiments done in collaboration with those guys from ThirtySix, I squeezed out a little bit of my time during the weekend to play with a Polaroid Spectra camera & two packs of film. Unfortunately the initial few shots went to heaven as the experiment didn’t turn out well. Few more shots ended up in hell because for some weird reason … the film got jammed while the camera was ejecting it. I had no choice but to take out the pack of film and… >> read more

Lazy Afternoon Snaps

Written by • Jun 30th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Apart from gulping down lots of yummy beer yesterday at Whitchurch Rd area, we did loiter around that area for some photos. At one point … we were even told that ‘hey … this is private property!’ when we were shooting some swing in some open area. Duh. Anyway … still I managed to finish a roll of long expired Kodak T400N 120 and got it developed today. Like the BW400CN, the T400CN doesn’t give too much of a contrast. Still pretty usable for times when I wanna shoot black… >> read more

Fuzzy 40!

Written by • Mar 18th, 2011 • Category: Others
Okay … so after maybe half a million pints of beer just now … I still have to struggle to upload few snapshots from a birthday dinner (just an excuse) cum beer session with my family and a couple of friends from ThirtySix just now. What was supposed to be a simple short dinner with Fitzand and wifey … turned up to be a longer ‘dinner’ when Jimmy from ThirtySix buzzed me for a ermmm … ‘short’ celebration. I ain’t one who celebrate birthdays but how can one resist a… >> read more
