Tried very hard to take some test shots with the SLR Magic’s Pinhole (paired with my good ol’ E-P1) today when out with my family. Luckily I had some time out in the sun and managed to squeeze out 10 test shots. You might notice some dust (quite a lot of them!) spots on the photos … as I was too lazy to clone out all of them.

I sold off my Wanderlust Pinwide some time ago in anticipation of this one from SLR Magic and after some waiting … finally it came knocking at my door yesterday. Finally home from a short trip to Malaysia. Usually I have a bit more time for photography there as my parents will help entertain Fitzand a little … while I can have a little peace of mind to snap away. After my recent first tests with the Wanderlust’s Pinwide indoors, finally I got to test it in the bright sun light. The fun thing about using it in the day is that you get to see what you are shooting on the LCD. Yeah … I thought I wouldn’t see a thing since the pinhole is so tiny … but I was wrong. Quite some time back, a friend sent me a link about backing a new product, a pinhole cap for the Micro 4/3 cameras … and after some consideration … I killed some money in my PayPal account and waited (not very) patiently. What we did was pledge a certain amount of money … and if they hit the required amount, they’ll start producing it. Since my last blog entry about the Toy Lens from SLR Magic, I got some requests for more sample photos and also a couple of questions … asking if I do find it fun. I decided to give up trying to write a review about this lens because … ermm … I can’t write well … I ain’t good at doing reviews … and ermmm …. I will just end up saying ‘Buy this lens! This new toy arrived at my desk … just a day after I placed an order (from Hong Kong). Super fast! The Toy Lens from SLR Magic … a lens that a blog reader/friend … ‘poisoned’ me with recently. You know who you are?!!!
With a focal length of 26mm (which equals a 52mm on M4/3) … this little lens sure sounds fun! So how does it perform (or in toy lens/cam lovers’ perspective … ‘not perform’)?

Fitzand loves spending time at his grandparents’ place in Malaysia and since the childcare was closed last Friday, a trip to Malaysia for a long(er) weekend seemed to be a good idea.
